BATCH CODE CHECKER

Verify the batch code on your Advion or Alpine gel

Type the batch code printed on the tube and press "Verify batch" to see the full product record: manufacturer, active ingredient, the registration number you should find on the tube, production plant, production date, age, and how long it is good for. Free, and it works on any tube, wherever you bought it.

Where to find the code, and how it is read

Advion — Syngenta

Printed on the tube label itself, usually starting with three letters such as ABW.

ABWplant
52025
KNov
19190serial

The digit after the three letters is the last digit of the production year; the letter after it is the month (A = January, B = February … L = December). Don't confuse it with the code starting SCP — that is the label version, not the production date.

Alpine — BASF

A 14-digit number on the tube or box, usually printed in three groups.

204888112article
162016
076day 76

The first 9 digits are BASF's article number, then two digits for the year and three for the day of the year. In the example: day 76 of 2016 = 16 March 2016.

Signs that call for caution

  • !A printed date that contradicts the batch code — for example a code pointing to August 2024 next to a "MANUF" date in 2026. Genuine packaging does not contradict itself.
  • !An EPA registration number that differs from the one the checker shows for that product.
  • !A batch code on an extra sticker over the manufacturer's label, no batch code at all, or a code that follows neither format above.
  • !Spelling mistakes or blurry printing on the label, or colours that differ from genuine tubes.
  • !A price far below the market — a genuine tube cannot be landed in the UAE that cheaply.
💡 To be clear: manufacturers don't publish a public batch database, so this tool reads the details from the structure of the code itself, as published by authorised US distributors of Syngenta and BASF products, and the product facts from its EPA-registered label. It is not an official manufacturer tool, and a readable date does not on its own prove a tube is genuine, because a copy can reuse a real code. What it does well is expose contradictions and tell you how old a product is.

Batch code questions

Does Advion have an expiry date?

Advion tubes carry no printed expiry date. The production month is built into the batch code, and Syngenta says the gel can last up to five years when stored indoors in stable conditions. That is why this checker shows a "good to use until" date five years from production.

Is the code starting with SCP the batch number?

No. Codes such as SCP 1484A-L2C 0620 identify the label version and when it was last revised. The batch code is the separate line, usually starting with three letters such as ABW.

The checker read my code. Does that mean the tube is genuine?

Not on its own. A copy can reuse a real code. What the checker does well is reveal contradictions — a printed date that does not match the code, the wrong EPA number for the product, or a code that follows no manufacturer format.

My tube is from another seller. Can I still use this?

Yes. It works on any Advion or Alpine tube, wherever you bought it.
